Pennies on the Pound

Fundraising collaboration with Heart of Texas Goodwill and St. Francis Episcopal Church

Board member Sabryna Brown told us about a fund raising opportunity with Heart of Texas Goodwill.

A collection trailer has been parked in St. Francis' parking lot for 5 days - Monday June 2 through Friday, June 6. Goowill will donate 20¢ for each pound collected.

Board Member Jeff Sweat, Senior Warden at St. Francis, helped make arrangements for use of the parking lot.

The trailer will be manned by volunteers from 8:00am to 5:00pm for the week.

Our first day had a good reponse. Folks from St. Francis, St. Andrews, St. Thomas and Friends-UCC brought us some good heavy stuff.

Day 2

David Fackler, Board Member and volunteer from St. Thomas helped man the collection trailer today. We are pleased with the response from the community and folks have been pleased that this opportunity has been made available.

Day 3

Cheri Stanton, St. Francis parishioner and mother of the Board's Student Representative Elizabeth, helped man the collection today. Donations have remained steady.

Days 4 and 5

Had a big rush on Friday afternoon and the trailer filled almost completely. Received word that we collected 6240 pounds which meant we will receive $936.00.

Addendum: Anyone else do the math? In most states, the product of 6240 times 0.20=1248.

They are supposed to be correcting the total.
